The new Forus Taxi makes clients and other contributors co-owners

A new platform for ordering taxis called Forus Taxi has been launched, thoroughly complementing the Estonian taxi market. More than 1,500 taxi drivers in Estonia have already joined the company, which operates on a novel business model. Managers, clients, and other contributors are included in the circle of owners through the US tokens program.

The tool of this unique programme is a token that will be called US Token. All customers, drivers, and other contributors of Forus Taxi will collect tokens for their contributions or rides, which will accumulate value on the free market in the future and which can be exchanged for a holding in five years. For example, if a customer makes trips for a total of 100 euros via Forus Taxi, they earn one US token for their account. A total of 30 million tokens will be issued, corresponding to a 30% holding.

The innovative crypto token programme has been created in cooperation with the start-up company Koos.io, headed by Taavi Kotka.

‘Forus Taxi is the realisation of my tiny dreams for the last ten years. I have been involved with service companies for over 30 years and have proven myself there. Now is the time to start sharing.

The platform with which we enter the market aims to share the company’s equity among our partners, customers, and the people who help make it happen. We will do our best to create an environment for the partners working for our company where they feel good and like they are a part of this big project. I believe that this creates an environment where people want to gather and stay. US means all of us together, and the word ‘together’ is a magical word,’ said Urmas Sõõrumaa.

The Forus Taxi mobile application works on the software developed by TaxiGo. New versions of the Forus Taxi app are available in the App Store and Google Play store, free of charge.

It is important for us that you can still feel the human touch in addition to the technical platform. Forus Taxi, formerly known as Tulika, can still be ordered by calling 612 0000 or the short number 1200, where customer calls are answered by helpful and professional customer service staff. At first, the Tulika1200 app will still be running parallel with the new Forus Taxi app.

‘Our vision is to become a leading service platform in the world, connecting consumers, service providers, and other contributors within the circle of owners. So we think big and want to act together. We give drivers driving on the Forus Taxi platform a share of the company,’ said Eduard Dubrovski, founder of TaxiGo and CEO of the Forus Taxi platform.

‘We will continue to work with our long-term partners and all new passengers, and I can say that taxi drivers are actively joining the Forus Taxi platform at the moment. Everyone is welcome,’ Dubrovski added.

For now, the Forus Taxi platform will be launched mainly in Tallinn, but in the near future, the Forus Taxi app will be available in Tartu, Pärnu, Rakvere, and other major Estonian cities. At the same time, the company is expanding beyond Estonia and the plans are to operate in at least five more countries by the end of the year.

The changes also concern Tulika Takso, acquired by Forus in the June of last year. Tulika Takso, the oldest, most valued, and largest high-quality taxi company in Estonia, will continue with its ~200 cars under the new name of Forus Takso. The well-known quality and security of the Tulika are complemented by the possibilities of a modern platform. Among other things, a total of 75 new eco-friendly Toyota RAV4 hybrid SUVs will be brought to the streets during the year, plans of expansion to hitherto uncovered Estonian cities are in place, and by joining the Forus Taxi platform, more convenient digital options for ordering a taxi are available.
