Safety – start with a risk assessment
Did you know that the organiser is required to carry out a risk assessment in the case of larger events? This will give you confidence and ensure preparedness in the case of an emergency or if something goes wrong. Anything can happen at a large event – you have to be prepared.
We have experience with events with different risk levels and we can draw up a thorough assessment for you and offer various different services which will help to ensure the success of your event.
What are the things that you as an event organiser must keep in mind?
Only invite competent and trained security guards to ensure security at your event. Order a risk assessment. A security plan is also required in the case of a public event, which specifies the number of employees ensuring security and their duties, the security zones, prohibited items, etc.
You as the organiser of the event must check the overall fire safety situation of the room, building, or temporary structure, as well as the attractions related to the event, and the proper functioning of the fire safety installations. Make sure that none of the escape routes are blocked. Mark the pathways.
On-site medical aid must be made available at large-scale events. If necessary, the security guards who hold a professional certificate can provide first aid, as they have generally received the required training.
In the case of using a temporary electrical installation with a main fuse with a rated current of more than 35 amperes at the event, an electrical installations audit must be conducted before using the installation.
Think about the parking arrangements for people to be able to arrive at your event smoothly. If necessary, invite a traffic controller. If you need to rearrange traffic for your event, you also require a temporary traffic scheme.
The organiser must keep the territory in good order during the event and clean the territory of a public event within 24 hours after the end of the event.
