Based on the type of the building

There are various types of fire extinguishers. When selecting an extinguisher, we take into consideration the area, intended purpose, and environmental conditions of your building as well as the compatibility of extinguishing agents with combustible materials on the premises. We install extinguishers in office buildings, public institutions, filling stations, warehouses, industrial premises, etc.

Fire extinguishers must be easily accessible in a building. They should never be placed in a location where fire could block access to extinguishers. Moreover, extinguishers must not be hidden behind other items.

Installation of fire extinguishers – what should I take into consideration?

Location

A fire extinguisher must be installed with a special fastening device vertically on the wall or floor of a building or an easily accessible cabinet.

Accessibility

An extinguisher must be prominently placed and easily accessible. It cannot obstruct doors from opening.

Height from the ground

When installing extinguishers, their bottoms cannot be higher than 1.5 m from the floor or ground.

Away from a heat source

Avoid placing a fire extinguisher in direct sunlight or in direct contact with another heat source as much as possible so that the temperature indicated on the extinguisher would not exceed the permitted limits.

Instructions must be visible

The instructions and pressure gauge on an extinguisher must be clearly visible.

Outdoor conditions

A fire extinguisher outside a building is installed under an awning or in a weather-proof easily accessible cabinet.

Inspection of fire extinguishers – how often?

Fire extinguishers must be inspected with the frequency required by the manufacturer. If the manufacturer has not stated the required frequency, a qualified specialist must be called to inspect the devices.
