The security insurance of Forus has been developed in partnership with If Kindlustus, protecting against various types of damage caused by water, fire, theft, and vandalism. We compensate for damages for a maximum of 10,000 euros for each insurance event with a 0-euro deductible.

What exactly is covered by the Forus security insurance?

An insurance event involving theft and vandalism is:

Deliberate and illegal damage to or destruction of the object of insurance by a third party.

Collision of a land vehicle with the object of insurance if the vehicle was driven by a third party.

An insurance event involving a robbery is a robbery committed by a third party at the object of insurance, including the seizure of property with force or threat of force.

An insurance event involving theft is a theft of the object of insurance or its components.

An insurance event caused by water is damage to or destruction of the object of insurance caused by:

Liquid or steam that has escaped from pipes in the building, which have burst suddenly and unexpectedly.

Liquid or steam that has escaped from a domestic appliance that is permanently connected to the mains due to the failure of the appliance or its connecting part.

Liquid or steam that has escaped from pipelines within a building outside the insured location (a neighbour forgot to turn off a faucet or a burst pipe, etc.).

Due to a blockage in the sewage system of an apartment building, the insured location is flooded with waste water, provided that the blockage was caused by a third party

An insurance event involving fire is:

Fire that is spreading outside a fireplace or the resulting soot, smoke, and extinguishing activities.

Visible mechanical damage or fire caused by lighting.

An explosion that damages the property or causes a fire.

Crash of a manned aircraft (including an airplane or a helicopter), its parts, or its cargo, damaging the property or causing a fire.

Crash of a drone, damaging the property or causing a fire.

Please note! Insurance is valid provided that the alarm is forwarded to the alarm response centre of Forus.

Report damage

You can report damage in the self-service environment of If Kindlustus, using their claims handling form. Follow the instructions and add the required documents.

When submitting a damage report, you will need:

  • A dispatch report, or if you do not have it, an alarm log that you can download in the Forus self-service.
  • Photos of the damage.
