As of 1 May 2026, the procedure for automatically transmitting fire alarms to the Emergency Response Centre changed. The obligation to be connected to the Emergency Response Centre now applies to specific types of facilities, while certain facilities may apply for connection. For other buildings, fire alarm system signals can be transmitted to the Forus control centre, where they are handled in accordance with an agreed response procedure.
To transmit fire alarm system signals, the system is equipped with the necessary alarm transmission equipment and connected to the Forus control centre.
Good to know: transmitting an alarm to the Forus control centre does not replace the obligation to be connected to the Emergency Response Centre for facilities where such an obligation applies. For facilities subject to this requirement, the control centre solution is an additional measure, not a substitute.

If a building does not fall within these categories, fire alarm system signals can be transmitted to the Forus control centre and a suitable response solution can be selected for the facility.
We review the requirements applicable to your building and determine whether the facility must be connected to the Emergency Response Centre, whether connection can be applied for, or whether an alarm transmission and response solution via the Forus control centre is suitable. If necessary, we provide instructions for applying for connection to the Emergency Response Centre.
The building must have an internet connection, backup power for network devices and a power supply near the fire alarm system equipment so that the alarm transmission equipment can be connected.
The alarm transmission equipment can be purchased or rented. In the case of a rental solution, we enter into a two-year fixed-term agreement, and the rental fee is added to the monthly service fee.
We continuously monitor the operation of the connection. In the event of an alarm, the signal is transmitted to the Forus control centre, where action is taken in accordance with the facility’s alarm transmission solution and the response procedure agreed with the client.
The equipment requires maintenance at least once every three years to ensure proper operation. Maintenance can be ordered from Forus technicians. If Forus is responsible for maintaining the building’s fire alarm system, maintenance of the alarm transmission equipment is provided free of charge once every three years.
Please note: maintenance of the alarm transmission equipment does not replace the regular maintenance of the fire alarm system itself, which must be carried out quarterly and once a year.
