Forus has updated security operations in the Rotermann Quarter by implementing Motorola Solutions’ Avigilon Unity video surveillance solution. The new system improves visibility across the area, speeds up responses to potential threats and helps reduce the costs of managing security services.
Previously, the Forus team used analogue video surveillance systems from several different manufacturers. The fragmented setup did not provide a clear overall view, was time-consuming to use and lacked modern AI-based analytics capabilities. At the same time, the cost of maintaining the on-site security team was increasing.
After thoroughly assessing different solutions, Forus chose the Avigilon Unity platform, which enables video surveillance to be managed from one central environment. Artificial intelligence-based cameras and video analytics help detect potential threats in real time and send automatic alerts to the security team. This allows operators to assess situations more quickly and respond without delay when needed.
A key advantage of the new solution is video surveillance that covers the entire Rotermann Quarter, including high-quality night vision. This improves situational awareness around the clock and helps the security team monitor the area more effectively, even in challenging lighting conditions.
Consolidating security operations onto one scalable platform has made the team’s daily work smoother and more efficient. Operators no longer need to switch between separate systems, and all necessary information is available in one place. This more efficient setup allowed Forus to reduce the on-site security team from three security employees to one, while maintaining a high level of security.
By implementing the Avigilon Unity solution, Forus has reduced operating costs, improved response speed and gained a better overview of what is happening in the Rotermann Quarter. In the future, Forus plans to integrate the quarter’s existing third-party access control solution into the system and expand the unified security ecosystem to other major development projects.
